Request for Public Comment of Support

The Central Valley Farmland Trust (CVFT) is currently engaged in the comprehensive accreditation process through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission (Commission), an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance. The successful completion of the accreditation process is of utmost importance to CVFT. It establishes an exemplary level of professionalism and credibility within the industry and significantly enhances the overall administrative capabilities of CVFT.

The accreditation process thoroughly evaluates CVFT's operations, including but not limited to the following areas:

  • Strategic planning
  • Compliance with rules, regulations and applicable statutes
  • Board and staff development and accountability
  • Financial and asset management
  • Evaluating, selecting, and closing easement transactions
  • Ongoing stewardship and landowner relations
  • Fundraising and donor relations

As part of the accreditation application process the Commission has asked for public comment of support for CVFT. Such comments must be in writing and relate to your experience with CVFT and their ability to meet/comply with the accreditation indicator practices .

Your comments should include the following information:

  • Name of applicant - Central Valley Farmland Trust
  • Your name and contact information (telephone and/or email are required)
  • Comments about CVFT, relative to the accreditation indicator practices (required)
  • Nature of your relationship with CVFT (optional)
